No. Bad idea. It would come off as using your adversity essay to air your grievances about your mother, especially since she has no actual mental illness diagnosis. You'd be throwing dirt on your mom, presumably without her permission, to your own advantage. That, and not the possible specter of future mental illness of your own, would reflect poorly on you. Back to the drawing board.

Yeah having a pain in the butt parent isn’t a good topic choice. If you recognized her symptoms of a disorder and were in charge of her treatment or convinced her to get treatment, or if you were her legal guardian, then I’d say to maybe use it. Not the case here.

I don't think this is an idea you should consider. My friend wanted to write about his girlfriend annoying him for this essay and I just stared at him haha.
