Hey! I was just wondering if anyone knows of good dive medicine (dive-holiday) and or wilderness medicine electives around?
Thanks!

Wilderness Medicine Insitute offers a one-month med student elective through NOLS. I think its 6/7 days in classroom and the rest of the time in the backcountry. The website is:

http://www.nols.edu/wmi/courses/medicineinthewild.shtml

I've done a few courses through both NOLS and WMI, including a Wilderness EMT course. Their training is hands down the best wilderness training in the country. Have fun,

I couldn't find the link for array rotations, but for dive medicine, a good starting place is D.A.N. http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/index.asp

they have several short courses for physicians, but I seem to remember hearing about elective rotations being offered as well. Could be the info is now on the duke website (duke supports D.A.N in someway)

I know the fast! scholarship search mentions a several month summer research project at Dan (paid) that is for med students only. Maybe their rotations changed into this.

If nothing else, emailing Padi or the other diving orgs may help.

Good luck, let us know what you find.
