😉 Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if someone could tell me if they got into DMU, and what your GPA was. Although I am far away from the application process, I am just curious to see what the lowest GPA acceptance was.

Thanks for all your input!

I was accepted with a 3.58 (science) and 3.69 (overall)
I do know that others got in w/ lower and higher GPAs.
Good luck, you'll love the school.

Wow, that's really high, I don't know if I can end up with that high of a GPA and Science GPA because of my bad semester as a freshman this year.

I heard of from a friend that they know a guy who got in with a 2.89 and a 28 MCAT. Weird things can happen.

Don't stress out. Just do your best and it will work out. Their averages will go up (MCAT, GPA) because their facilities are now top notch. I've heard a wide range of GPAs so don't worry about it. Good luck. 👍

There is a 3.0 science GPA cut off....

That being said: I got in with a 3.92 overall and a 3.85 science GPA.

Ummm wow... that didn't help out at all my friend... those are excellent GPA's.

I got in with 3.8 (3.7 science). Honestly, don't worry about what other people's GPA and MCAT scores are. As long as you're above a 3.0 and have a 24-25, you will be competitive at most schools. When I went to the DMU interview, everyone had double majors, minors, kids, great ECs and I was like wtf, I'm a bio major with ok ECs. Moral of the story is, I got in. If you can talk, you can get into most any DO school (and many MD schools too). If there's one thing that I've learned on interviews, it is that not everyone is prepared. Do practice interviews, answer possible questions, know your oral resume, etc. GPA and MCAT can open doors for you, no question about it, but you've gotta know how to clinch the deal. Any questions, feel free to PM me, I'd be happy to help. Good luck!

Sorry about that then! I really wouldn't worry about my GPA or anyone elses for that matter! Just make sure you have over the 3.0 science and do well enough on the MCAT's to wow them.

If the 3.0 science is the cut-off, you are gonna need to try to hit at least a 3.2. However, if you have a high MCAT it will offset things.

I just interviewed yesterday (feb17) and I have a GPA of 3.08 overall with a similar science GPA. I did get a question about my GPA being lower and got a little worried with my answer. I have an MCAT of 12 PS, 8 VR, 9 BS, P writing, 29 overall. I have a ton of clinical experience with EMS, hospital, nursing home over the past 5-6 years. I will let you know how it what happens...usually they said you find out in a week. I'll be crossing my fingers becuase the school is absolutely awesome.

Hey-

I was accepted to DMU this year with a 3.8 GPA. Don't get discouraged, though, whatever your GPA is. If you want to go to medical school bad enough, you will. Good luck.

I interviewed last Friday (Feb 24th) with a 3.45 GPA.

Well...I don't have supergreat news to report... waitlisted 3.08 GPA and 29 MCAT. Hoping that I get in still but it will be June...Best advice go get a smashing GPA and great MCAT. Can't say that my EC's came in handy with my low GPA until I get in...which I still may... Either DMU is very popular on SDN or it's more popular this year because of their newer facilities. Just hope some people decide to go somewhere else and squeeze me a spot in there for a great fit for me in DMU 2010
