Do a lot of med schools have English as a prerequisite?

Just wondering, because I don't have to take English to graduate since I AP'd out.

I'm taking English this semester, but I don't especially enjoy it, so I was wondering if I can skimp on the second semester.

If not, I'll just take it senior year.

Most schools have an English requirement, but most of them also take AP credit for it. You should be good to go.

It really depends on the school. Check out their admissions websites and their prerequisites. I think over half of mine require 6 credits of English, and those accept AP credit. So if you have 6 AP English credit, you should be fine (only a few schools don't except AP credit). Anyway, check out the school's website or borrow someones MSAR if they have it.

Vanderbilt is one such school that doesn't give AP credit for English.

Most schools have english as a requirement, with some requiring one semester and others requiring a whole year. Schools look into english classes and other humanities classes to see how rounded an applicant is.

Same here...I SAT'd out of Eng 101, but some of the schools I'm thinking about applying to don't accept it. So I agree with the other posts in that you should definitely check.

I think I'll end up taking it anyway, as long as I don't get an insanely difficult professor, it should be an easy overall GPA booster.
