3.23 UGPA (130+ credits)
3.52 BCPM

Given the number of undergrad credits, it would take a second undergraduate degree (120+ credits) with A's throughout to move that UGPA above 3.6, and over 60 credits to move it past 3.5. However, the second undergraduate degree could be done part-time with evening and summer classes, while continuing to work.

An alternative would be a (so-called) high-risk SMP, which would take less time and cost less money, but has zero margin for error.

Any opinions? Thanks in advance! :)

You don't need either. Take a few classes, work on your ECs, do well on the MCAT and you'll be gtg.

^^^ What he said.

But enroll for 2nd bachelors anyways since you get registration priority over non-degree students.

Thanks for the replies drizzt3117 and foster033.

Are you thinking DO or MD?

Take UG classes over the next year or two and spend a lot of time studying for the MCAT. If you are open to DO schools, your GPA should be good enough. With a good MCAT, apply to MD as well. I wouldn't do an SMP until you try applying for a cycle or two.

Don't forget about ECs. Make sure you have at least 300-400 hours of some kind of meaningful healthcare experience. You need to be able to show you know what you are getting yourself into. The rest of your app needs to be stellar if you are a little lacking in one area.

This conversation is irrelevant until you have an MCAT score. My ignorant estimates: If you get a 35+ you might get into an MD school right now, if you apply broadly enough. Take a year of basket weaving to bring you up to a 3.4 if you want to clinch it. 30-35 and you're good to go for DO schools and if you get your GPA to 3.4 then maybe MD as well. 27-30 and maybe DO if you spend a year getting your GPA up. Less than 27 and you either need to retake or get a new plan for your career.

Good luck.
