One of the AMCAS calculation sites had something about hs courses; which ones? Do AP courses count in any way?

hey Dr. Josh, I found something that answers many of your questions:

    http://www.artsci.wustl.edu/~college/After_First_Year/Junior/JuniorJumpstart2005/pdf/AMCASApp.pdf

But now I have a question...

Dual Credit counts!? wth!? The pdf says it must be reported, but does that mean it counts towards your GPA calculation? I'm a freshman, and last year in HS i took Calc I as Dual Credit just so I'd come into Calc I in college feeling fresh.

Well, i got lazy as a senior - very lazy, and ended up doing no work in the class whatsoever. I got a C+, but I figured that since I'd be taking it again, it wouldn't matter.

What will happen with that C+, will the med schools just see it or will it actually be factored into my gpa?

Yup. In fact, my grades from Homeroom and Lunch really brought up my GPA. I can now boast a 1.85 GPA. Med school here I come.

You have to report all the classes you've taken, and all the transcripts from any university you ever went to. So, if you got a grade on a transcript where you got dual credit, yes, it will affect your GPA.

Very funny, guys. Sorry for my stupid questions but this is all new to me and I'm trying to find answers. Something on AMCAS is not that clear. Someone mentioned dual enrollment but not AP courses were included so i was just trying to verify that.

Study abroad classes, if you receive credit directly from your University, do count towards your GPA. For instance, if you attend an Education Abroad program with U.C., the courses count as U.C. courses.

If on the other hand you study abroad independently, then transfer credits back to your home university, these grades do not.

If you are studying abroad through your home school's EAP program, they ususally will.
