I'm guessing no but just getting some feedback...My grades are SUCKING this quarter, mostly due to going away too much for interviews and also due to a lack of motivation once I got an acceptance! Med schools can't rescind if you pass...but just barely!...can they?

I'm in the same boat and really really hope that C's don't matter... I've got a major case of senioritis and am averaging Cs this semester.

I think as long as you get above a C it should not matter.

nah, doesn't matter from what I have heard..

my buddy got accepted last year and slacked off his whole senior year.. (now I am finding that he probably didn't slack, just was really busy with the application process!!!)

It has to be tough for borderline applicants. Say you get a bunch of interviews, and therefore your grades suffer. Then you don't get in, and your GPA is worse than before. *Shudder*

Edit: I know the OP was talking about Cs AFTER acceptance.

When I interviewed at KU they told us that they can rescind an acceptance if your grades do not stay somewhat similar to what you have gotten in the past. They said B's don't really matter, but if you do poorly it could have an effect. We were told that last year they had to do this to an EDP applicant who totally slacked off after being accepted. Whether any of this is true, I can't really say...they might just be telling us this so we don't decide to take a mental vacation after getting an acceptance. Still, I would try and do the best you can given the circumstances.

Thats why its best to set the standards low for yourself the first 3 years 🙂

That way you can say I have had C's before

Doesn't appear that you will have any problem with your GPA going down..

PS: Did you really interview at Penn State on 10/19? So did I!

One issue to consider, although it's unusual: I slacked off some during my senior year. I had already applied to grad school, so I figured it didn't matter. I actually didn't slack at all. I got married, I had pneumonia the week of exams, I was commuting 3 hours each way second semester, etc. Except obviously these are just excuses, and in the end it's my fault I didn't do better.

So, guess what? I hated grad school, dropped out, and decided to apply to med school. Oops! Now my senior year grades really matter.

Obviously if you're already accepted to med school, it's unlikely your senior grades will ever matter again in your life. On the other hand, you never know. It's probably worth doing as well as possible just in case. Not that you have to get all As, but I would try not to get Cs. It won't be the end of the world if you do (I did), but you'll be more secure if you don't. Besides, it feels good to graduate with honors, and it really sucks to graduate .01 grade points away from a higher level of honors just because of one C! 😛

Sorry, my profile is confusing. I received an email asking me to interview on 10/19. I am calling today to schedule the date, so we'll see what happens. 🙂

it depends on the school policy...in most schools if u get a C or lower on a required course...then they might drop you
if u get a C on a science course thats not required, then it will be questioned
if u get a C or lower on a non-science course, it will be ingnored

sometimes people fail a class thats required for graduation no matter what it is and do not graduate on time...so they get dropped as well.
