Can anyone suggest a website that has an UPDATED list of AOA approved EM residencies. I have been told that the AOA opportunity page is somewhat outdated and some of those programs listed are not even open anymore.

As far as I know that is the best list you are going to find. I can't think of any programs on there that aren't up and running, maybe 1 or 2 of the smaller ones.

Best site that I have found. They have the names of all the programs, and some info about all of them. I usually google the names of the programs and go to the hospital websites... more info there.

Thanks guys, I guess that is the best list that is around right now. Do you know if any of the programs in the Northeast: NJ, Philly, NY or Chicago are quality programs? I think most DO's that want EM prob. go Alllopathic but I am intersted in staying DO if there is a quality program.

This info is taken off the ERAS applicant site whichs requires login. It includes linked internship/EM residency programs in all states. Ignore the fact that they only say internship training. All of these are 4 year programs. There aren't too many, but many I would not go near. Personally, considering osteopathic only and not dually accredited, I recommend PCOM/Lehigh Valley/Muhlenburg and Doctors Hospital in Columbus. Frankford is up in coming due to new program director, new DME and many changes. Might be very good in 2-3 years. Be careful with osteopathic programs. AOA RRC not as strict and some programs at EDs with less than 20,000/visits and non trauma center. Seems weird considering.

Thanks for the info. Do you know anything about UMDNJ-Stratford EM residency, seems like they have been around a while and have several other good residencies (i.e. Critical care fellowship and a combined IM/EM program). I would highly consider this one if it is a quality program, but I haven't heard much about it. What did you mean the AOA is not "strict" they don't have quality assurance policies in these programs? Thanks again.
