I've taken two years of sciences. My GPA is a 3.3. I still have another semester of sciences (last semester were purely electives), where these two courses can up my GPA to maybe 3.45 or 3.5 IF I get the grades I'm hoping for.

My volunteer work is on the low side, and I still have 2 years left to start volunteering more. I've taken up a rec centre volunteer job, a seniors home job, and also a blood services volunteer job. I'm worried inadequate volunteer work will be my downfall for medical school. However, in terms of athleticism, I've faired well with the community work for sports, etc.

Will be taking the MCAT at the end of next summer hopefully. Will take a prep course.

Do I still stand a chance? I hear that med schools look more closely at your 3rd and 4th year grades vs. your first two, as they understand students may have slipped at the start but are picking themselves back up.
