DO LOR at MD school?

I'm interested in both MD and DO schools but only have time to fully shadow one or the other. Since many DO schools require a LOR from a DO I have been shadowing a DO. Will MD schools take a LOR from him (it will be strong!) or should I get one from an MD whose may not be as strong since it won't have been as consistent shadowing?

A letter for a DO is fine at an MD school, however IMO shadowing letters are silly and accomplish very little. Furthermore if your numbers are up to par you should consider applying MD only (at least initially) since you might get stuck having to choose between putting down a huge non-refundable deposit at a DO school or forfeiting your spot early on in the season. If you aren't getting interviews a few months in then you should consider applying to DO schools.
