Anyone in or was ever part of a DO/MBA program? What are your thoughts of it? Did it help you secure your first choice residency? Advanced your career sooner? Any opinions would be nice.

Give up a year of physician salary in order to pay another year of tuition? A real master of business would say no way to that deal. In the last 20 years, the MBA has really been devalued. A physician lectured us, and he received his MBA by going to a couple of weekend seminars in Denver put on by the CU Medical School.

I was looking at KCUMB's program which allows you to graduate on time (4 years)

An MBA will help if you plan on going into hospital administration (there are various MBA program tracks that are specific to different roles within hospital administration). As far as helping with residency, an MBA will not be of much value.

What do you want to do with the MBA? If you're getting it to help run your own practice someday, forget it, you don't need it...
if you're thinking of maybe pharm consulting or banking in the health care sector, etc, then i'd do it only if you're getting it from a top 25 school... even then...
