Not really. But here are the stats - any info much appreciated.

MCAT: 31Q (BS10,PS10,V11)
cGPA: 3.41
SciGPA: Exactly the same

RED FLAGS:

Chem Grades [c1,2,o1,2, bch1]
B+, B-, B, C+, B+

Weak academic recommendations
No upward trend

2yrs off (to think about it!)

Short stints of volunteering, nothing long term.

Is it all DO-wnhill from here?

Thx guys

Stats-wise, I think you'd have a good chance of a DO acceptance. For MD you'd probably need a year of SMP, or at least upper-level Bio classes, getting near-straight As to make you more competitive.

EC-wise, neither DO or MD schools will consider you without the usual and customary experiences listed on your application. If you'd have to beef up this part of youur application, why not spend the same year doing some GPA repair to give you a decent shot at MD schools (and strategizing for some stronger LORs)?

Stats Twin.

I agree with Cat. You need to get some serious ECs together, especially clinical experience. What have you been doing in the 2 years off? Working?
