I'll be applying next year, but I'm trying to schedule an event for one of my organizations. I want to be sure that my event will not interfere with any potential (hopefully) interviews. Do med schools give you a few options for interview dates, or do they tell you what day you have to come?

Thank you.

This post will give you a good idea of how interviews are scheduled

Good luck. It is great that you are thinking ahead!

Thanks so much. It seems that a few schools don't give choices, but at least most do. For those that DON'T give choices, do they usually schedule interviews for a praticular day of the week? Are interviews more often scheduled for early in the week, or later in the week, or is there no difference?

Thank you

It is good that you are thinking ahead but this might be a little extreme. You can't predict if or when you will get interviews really, especially down to the day of the week. So go ahead and schedule your event and if you so unluckily are granted an interview on that particular day, I am sure that the school will understand and reschedule. If they don't, refer them to this board so that they can see that you anticipated the conflict a year ahead of time!
Good Luck but my advice is to schedule your event. Please don't worry about conflicts yet! AMCAS will leave plenty of time for worrying later!
Good luck
