do med schools verify work experience listed on amcas?

i've had a job for the past five years where the owner pays me cash. this of course won't come out in a "work history report", and if I'm eventually asked about it, they might assume I didn't want to pay taxes. do they check/ask about paid jobs?

I highly doubt it. Consider that the school receives hundreds, if not thousands of applicants. You are chosen for an interview - they hardly have the time to check for a "work history" (and I'm not sure whether such a centralized inventory exists outside of the SSA). Just be able to talk about your experiences there in detail and you will be fine.
