My premedical adviser noted that I should not use pronouns in my activities section.

I was wondering if this was common knowledge, since it doesn't seem to be mentioned at all on this forum~

I did.... What your advisor is saying sounds like s/he is patterning it after the format in a resume. Our med school contacts said to write it more in a narrative form, but it's really up to you. Not using pronouns (i.e., no subjects) does save characters, but may reduce readability if done improperly.

No. Do what comes more naturally to you. IMO, mini essay format allows you to be more reflective.
