I can understand if your STEP I is hurting but, if its strong they know you can take an exam.

What I am trying to say is, should I wait till after the match for step II ?

Thanks

Hi there,
When I was interviewing last year, the more competitive programs i.e. Hopkins, Mayo commented on my Step II scores. The rest just noted that I had passed the exam. The general wisdom is that if you hated your Step I score, you should take Step II early and do well. If your Step I score is great, your Step II score should not drop so taking it early or late doesn't make that much difference.

The nice thing is that Step II is much easier than Step I. Good luck!:D

Thanks for the insight!

In theory.....the step II should not drop!

I have decided to take it right in the middle of interveiw season. That way, they can see that I am taking it early, and if I am psyched about the results I can send them to programs that I willbe raking high. On the other hand, if they are OK or bad, I can be more discreet with them.

Thanks again for the advice.
