Do Residency Directors care where you went to Med School? For example, would it matter if you went to a top ten school like Yale or Michigan or if you went to a lower tier school like Drexel? :)

A psychiatry residency director once told me the following, speaking about choosing new residents: "The medical students who are in the top half of their class at ANY med school are all generally very good. The students in the bottom half of the class at top-tier and middle-tier schools are pretty good, too. The ones to watch for, though, are the medical students who are in the bottom half of their class and go to the lowest-tier schools."

What I took from this is that even if you go to a less reputable school, as long as you do well, it doesn't matter in the long run.
