DO residency then MD fellowship

if i did a DO resedency in say IM then did an MD fellowship in say Cardio (if this is possible) could i then be certified by the MD speciality boards, or would i be certified by the american board of osteopathic IM for IM and the MD board for CArdio...........how does this work??????????
or is it just better to go for the MD residency if this is what you choose

You can do the fellowship, but I believe you can only become certified by the osteopathic boards.
