What DO schools are considered the best? I've heard PCOM is good.

I was wondering what kind of GPA and MCAT scores I would need to get into a school like PCOM.

I'll graduate with around a 3.3 GPA and 29 MCAT, so would this be good enough, if coupled with a lot of DO shadowing, some hospital volunteering, and over a thousand hours of community volunteering?

What would I need to do to get into a school like PCOM, or one of the better DO schools? Thanks!

I'm from NY by the way

I think you'll get a fine education at any of them. Since you're from NY, prioritize NYCOM, the two NY TUCOMs, Rowan and PCOM. Then spread out from there.

Just me personally, I dislike LECOM's dress code and mandatory class attendance policy. But that's just me.

What is your sGPA? What was your GPA for the last year before applying (I'm looking for a steep upward grade trend)?
I'm not sure of SGPA, but yeah sophomore year was brutal, then junior and senior year all A's along with A's in all my D and C classes after a retake

For a more reliable estimate of your chances, consider figuring out your sGPA, with and without omitting the D and Cs that you retook , with this DO GPA calculation spreadsheet: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=450050

AMCAS BCPM GPA varies from AACOMAS sGPA, which includes (scroll to bottom half): http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=552026 . For AACOMAS, don't include math, and do include engineering.
