Do schools look down on an applicant for having to reschedule an interview? For me, my university just released that they will have the May 2020 graduation ceremony on the day after my interview (I am a may 2020 grad). I would not be able to get to the ceremony without rescheduling, and I can't afford to fly in two days early and do the interview from the hotel.
Rescheduling is very common. Life happens.

We take offense when you don't show up without any advanced notice. Advanced = more than 48 hours so we can try to pull someone off our interview waitlist queue. We definitely take offense when you don't show up and you let us know the morning of that you didn't realize it was your interview day or are radio-silent after all the follow-up we send you.
