I don't know of any stats, but I would bet that we SDN'ers do have a greater acceptance rate. I think so simply because people who post here usualy are the more serious premed students who bust their butts to get into medschool and post here to gain assistance to that end. Rather than the average premed students who just go to classes to get through them and spend more time partying than studying. For instance, it's Friday night, and the majority of my premed peers are out on the town, but what am I doing? (besides posting SDN) I'm studying cell bio for a test coming up next thursday. Over kill? Maybe. But come Fall 2003 I'm gonna be studying medicine baby!
Amen to that last post -- I couldn't be happier with going to med school next year. The coolest job and only the lucky few get to pursue this career. While I never sacrificed any fun time, studying harder than anyone I know pays off when I get in. Serious credit goes out to EVERYONE on this board for their diligence and success!!!!
Well I am 100% sure that if I had found this site 6 months earlier than I did, I would have been much more successful in this application process. So those of you who have yet to apply should congratulate yourselves for finding this site already, and putting yourselves at a large advantage.
Had I found this site earlier, I would have failed out of my classes. It's addictive!!!
I was one of the premeds who went out on the town every weekend as a freshman and sophmore. I have no idea how I managed the time!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />
