it is my very first post and i find this site to be very usefull and helpfull.
Can someone tell me if DO school accept canadians in particular the following schools:

- DMU, MSUCOM, NYCOM, UMDNJ-COM,UNECOM and western COMP.
An answer will be very much appreciated. Thanx

I'm sure all osteopathic schools accept canadians, especially that the Canadian parliament will be/If not already signed a bill passing allowing medical licensure to practice full scope of medicine to American Trained Osteopathic Physicians.... notice I said American trained, b/c other osteopaths from other countries are not extensively trained as we are...

I know that DMU interviewed a dozen+ Canadians for the incoming Class of 2007.

I'm glad you find the site useful and encourage you to continue utilizing it.

Good luck, 😎

hey, I am in at UNE for the fall so I guess they don't have anything against canucks. I did do undergrad in the states just north of boston (Gordon College) so that's a bit of a different situation than if you did school completely back home. Just to let you know, from what I know the only provinces that let DO's trained in the states practice completely are alberta, bc, and quebec. that's from a chart that KCOM gave me when I was there. It's a difficult situation because osteopath as known outside the u.s.a. is more like practicing as a chiropractor and not at all like an allopathic physician. Quebec has a school and if you look at their curriculum it's more just like the OMM we get at d.o. school. I recently was emailing a doctor at the Ontario College of Physicians and surgeons and it looks like Ontario will soon be swinging towards allowing osteopaths to practice, not immediately but I imagine by the time I get done with school. Hope this helps.
