Hi, sorry to intrude--

I am not currently a medical student but I am heavily considering going into medicine. I've been conducting research lately and I am a bit confused and hopefully someone here can clear up my confusion. Most of the information I've been able to locate on the web has been a biased opinion. Can anyone tell me in plain English, what are the differences between DO and MD??? Are the opporunities to practice the same??? Is one regarded as more superior over the other???

Incoming....!

You should do a search in the various allopathic and osteopathic forums for this topic. I would respond to your question but the topic of your inquiry on these boards tend to easily get out of control, with people arguing about the merits of a DO versus the merits of a MD. They can get quite emotional and/or even juvenile at times. It is a debate that has been labored to death on SDN. You'll see when you do the search.

Good luck.
