I took 1 summer course at a community college during high school. I know that I include this in my courses, but do I also include it in the "colleges attended" section? Does it count as "junior college"? Schools will know that I didn't attend this junior college and then transfer to a university, right? They will know that I went from high school straight to university right?
Thanks

You report any college credit that you have ever received. The time period will indicate that you were still in high school.

It says on the post-secondary schools part of the app to list post-secondary colleges. I attended this community college in high school, so it wouldn't be post-secondary, right?

No. If you received credit at this college then you MUST put it down. If you don't and they find out, then you WILL lose your acceptances or be kicked out of med school. Not worth the risk.

I'm sorry for being unclear, or I'm very confused <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I know that for the course work, I have to include this community college course that I took in high school.

However, my question is specifically for the part of the application that lists "schools attended."

It says
On this screen you will begin the process of entering the college(s) you have attended. List every post-secondary institution where you have enrolled for at least one course, even if credits have been transferred, no credits were earned, or you withdrew.

Since this community college course was not post-secondary, do I still list the community college as a post-secondary school?

If so, the only options for type of school are:
graduate, undergraduate, post-bacc, and junior college
So I assume I would then choose junior college, except I took it in high school...

I think I'm confused about whether I list community college as post-secondary even though it's not post-secondary. Or, in order to list the community college class in courses taken, do I have to then list this college here?

Thanks

Premed,
If you took a college class WHILE in high school (regardless of where the class is held, at a college or at a high school) AS LONG AS YOU DID A COLLEGE CLASS WHILE IN HIGH SCHOOL, it is listed on your AMCAS transcript. Having said that, if the school you attended was a community college, then you put down "junior college." Transcripts from this college will be required.

Hope this helps.

PS: the reason you say junior college and not "undergrad" is b/c the classes were not taken at your undergrad institution, plus, you were still a high school student, and not enrolled in college as a student intending to get a degree...it's kinda dicey, but you know what i mean.
