"Individuals with incomes of $200,000 or higher, and families with combined incomes of $250,000, will be subject to a new 3.8 percent "Medicare Tax." They will also be taxed now on unearned income, including dividends, interest and capital gains." http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/HealthCare/health-care-bill-obama-sign-bill-tuesday/story?id=10169801&page=2

I really feel terriable for medical students/physicians right now…Not only did Obama not do anything about malpractice reform to protect against frivolous lawsuits/lower insurance cost but he provided people making over $200,000 aka most physicians with a 3.8% annual tax. I’m in total shock right now…

To avoid crowding the Pre-Medical Allopathic forum with many threads on the exact same topic, all healthcare reform threads have been merged into one thread: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=711803. Remember that the forum is dedicated to applying to medical school. Yes, the reform is relevant, but we cannot have them taking over the entire forum. If you would like to create your own thread, please do so in the Sociopolitical Issues forum: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/forumdisplay.php?f=12. Thanks for your understanding!
