Medical Does a math professor count as science in terms of LoR?

Hi, I’ve been having trouble getting a second science LoR for AMCAS. I took a quantitative neuroscience and dynamical systems course from a professor in the mathematics department. Would this count as a Science LoR?

I believe it depends on the school and what they're individually looking for. I know some schools may specifically require letters from science professors, others from faculty who taught a science course. What the schools view as "science" may differ regarding what's expected for a "science letter." Math is absolutely science, but some schools may be looking more for bio/chem related professors.

It would likely meet the criteria if you truly can't find another letter writer, but would suggest still trying to find another to fulfill that requirement to be safe, and then use this as the non-science (despite being a science) or simply an additional letter if it's a strong letter.

It's very school dependent. But tbh, the COURSE sounds like a hard science course and would assume it would count as there are many mathematics professors that delve into the hard sciences of bioinformatics.

School dependent. I would think this would pass as the course IS neuroscience. This is probably best answered by speaking with the medical schools.
