Does any other medical school have a DIY post bacc option like Wayne State University?

My GPA is terrible so I want to do a DIY post back to help improve it.

I talked to an admissions officer at Wayne State and she told me if I took 20 upper level science credits at a 4 year university they would consider that primarily as my undergraduate GPA.

Has anyone else heard of another med school with a policy like this?

Wayne State has a post-bac program though, if you are looking into that. They have a basic medical sciences program too.

Does Wayne State really have that policy?

It seems to good to be true, but I spoke with an admissions officer and that is what she told me. I'm going to clarify in a couple weeks with another advisor at Wayne- I set up an appointment to talk to her about this

Yeah they do have somewhat of a policy like this but you have to have a gpa of 3.5+ in 20 credits of graduate level science courses that relate to medicine in some way AND at least 28+ on the MCAT... I also think this is for in-state, URMs but that last part my not be true anymore. I was told this like 2 years ago by Wayne State but it could have changed.

To answer the OPs question, I don't think many opportunities like this exist outside of WSUSOM
