I interviewed at G'Town the last week in september (sept. 27?) and heard that we were supposed to hear from them mid-november but it seems like people are hearing already (congrats!) so does anyone know how it works? And when the committee meets? And how soon the letters are sent out?

I interviewed there on 9/23 and got a rejection earlier this week, i think tuesday.

I'm so sorry to hear that Jim. Getting into these schools is so random and flukey. Did G'Town tell you you'd hear this week or was that early? Thanks.

has anyone heard from g'town lately? i interviewed there the last week of september and am still waiting to hear. i thought we were supposed to hear mid-nov but it seems that people who interviewed after me are hearing. does anyone know how the g'town admissions committee works? thanks!

I pretty sure I covered it when I said they SUCK. 🙂

All I know about the committee is that they review 100 applicants at a time and that it takes 4-6 weeks for them to do this.

Does anyone know when G'town will conduct their final interviews?

Thanks!

I feel kinda lonely, because I am the only person that I know of who has heard anything positive. Someone else must've gotten in so far. I want to meet my fellow potential Hoyas. I was so excited when I got in...now all I hear are crickets chirping 🙁

JDW: That really blows. I'm sorry to hear that. I know that it's little consolation, but this process is totally wacky and unpredictable. Qualified applicants get rejected all the time, and sometimes underqualified ones get in on a fluke, just like Woodstock said. I hope you hear from your top choice soon 🙂 Good luck. :luck:

i think they interview their last regular applicants sometime in march and then 60 or so of their special masters program students interview during a 2-week span in mid april. are you asking this because you've been waitlisted (aka competitive applicant-pooled)? if so, georgetown is different than other schools in that they admit people from their waitlist randomly before may 15. most schools wait to start making selections from the waitlist until at least late april or may, but not gu.

Honestly I got my Pittsburgh acceptance the day before I heard from G-Town, so I really didnt care as I would have withdrawn anyways. Pitt is actually one of my top 5 choices. I'm withdrawing my apps from all but Stanford, Yale, Cleveland Clinic, UMass, Hopkins, Pitt and UPenn. I'm extremely happy with the way everyting has turned out, hope all you guys get the same feeling... good luck...

They said they would review our application again after they had completed interviews and reviewed all of those applications...so I was just wondering around what time that was b/c interview day a guy said he did not interview until April which is past the March 15 day when schools have to give out enough acceptances to fill their class....

On an unrelated note, schools have told me they do not consider any hold or still under review a wiatlist until about a month after the May 15 deadline because there is so much movement between the end of march and end of May. It makes me feel better, so I thought make some other people feel better too to think of it like that.

Very strange! I interviewed a day after you (9/29), and STILL havent heard anything. Did you get the acceptance via email, phone, or snailmail? Congrats again!

Mesocompound- i interviewed around the time that you did. do you remember when they said we would hear? i thought it was mid-november but i might be mistaken because other people are hearing already.
