For schools that require a year of upper level chemistry even if you do have AP credit, does biochem count? It's listed under both the chemistry and biology sections of the catalog at my school. I have 10 hours of credit from the AP, so I definitely don't want to take gen chem.

Also, since biochem lab at my school is only one semester, do I have to take another semester of some other chem lab (I'll probably take analytical, it's one semester with lab) to get the full year of lab credit?

Thanks! :D

if it doesn't count, I guess I can always take p-chem, which definitely doesn't sound like fun!

For most schools you will need 2 semesters of General and organic Chemistry. Some will let you substitute 1 orgo semester w/ 1 Biochem course, but not all. On the other hand, there are a few that require Biochem on top of Gen Chem and orgo.
