Hey,
My co-resident, who is going to practice in CA, told me that if I want to get a CA license, I need to have a psych rotation in residency. I tried searching for it, but couldn't find any information on this. Does anyone with experience getting a CA license know about this?
This strikes me as very odd, since I would be practicing as an internist or a subspecialist, not as a psychiatrist or an addiction specialist. He mentioned that there is a CME course that I might be able to pay and to take in lieu of this requirement. Has anyone heard of this?
I tried searching the website but couldn't find anything. I need to schedule my last rotation, and I would rather rotate in the sub-specialty that I will be doing a fellowship in so that I can prepare for fellowship instead of doing a psyche rotation.
Thanks.
