Well, I'm going back to pick up my biology degree but i'm about to graduate with a degree in history. Does it matter if my research comes from a non-science?

I posted in the research forum but got no response. Maybe someone here knows the answer.

It is best if the research is biology/chemistry/science based because this is what is most relevant to medicine.

However, non-science research is not bad. In general research shows academic interest and that you are an original thinker. Both are good things to have as a physician.

Who knows - I would imagine any research show intellectual curiosity, discipline and dedication, regardless of its scope, but I will tell you this -I interviewed kids this year as an MSII for admissions and I was more impressed with the people who had done social science research - I think it shows depth of character to be able to think in the abstract terms often required in the liberal arts, and still pull off the hard sciences enough to get the interview.
