Is it a disadvantage to apply to gpr programs late? By late, I mean getting applications processed/sent about 3-10 days before the program deadline.

I want to know if applying to a gpr late would diminish one's chances as with applying to dental schools late.

Thanks.

I'm going to say no to this. It seems that once the applications are recieved (once the deadline is closed) they probably then review them and decide who to invite for interviews.

Perhaps Dr. Arn will see this thread and post his thoughts.

Probably depends on the program. Some programs are lucky to get as many applicants as they have spots in the program. These programs are happy just to have a warm body producing in clinic and bringing in that precious GME funding.

Other programs aer more competitive and can probably afford to be a little picky about deadlines and such.

It looks like my apps are going to be a little late too. My recommendation writers are taking their sweet time about things. You'd think a month would be enough time to come up with something - anything.

Good luck.
