Im currently applying to Pharmacy school and some of the the schools that I am applying to require the PCAT. I just received my January scores and got a cummulative of 94%. My G.P.A. isnt that spectacular. It's at a 3.15 but my major gpa ( biology and political sciece) are at a 3.2 -3.3. The schools that I'm sending out the PCAT too are Maryland, Midwestern - Arizona/Illinois, NorthEastern, Temple, and Washington.

Do you think I stand a chance?

I think you have a fighting chance. I have a similar applicant profile (not the best GPA, high PCAT composite, few yrs pharmacy and industry experience) and was granted admission into a handful of schools.

Maryland was one of them. I think they honestly believe in a well-rounded individual and don't focus all their attention on GPA's.

University of Washington may be a struggle -- unless you're a WA resident. They admit only a small # and give preference to in-state applicants. But anything is possible and you should definitely give it a shot!!

Much luck to you!

Cheers!

you'll get in. getting into pharmacy school isn't that hard. my grades were a little bit worse than yours and my pcat was the same. i got into midwestern/downers grove. don't get so worked up over it.

Hi, I am in a pretty bad situation, I know!! But here goes! I want to apply to a pharmacy school, but my overall GPA is 2.5 or 2.6. These are my grades in the following science courses:
O Chem I = C
G Chem I = B
G chem II = C
Physics = B
Cell and Molecular Bio = C
Zoology = C
Anatomy = C
Calculus = C

I still need to take the another semester of O chem, 1 semester of macroeconomics, 1 semester of physics and 1 semester of physiology

Obviously, my grades aren't that great and I know I pretty much screwed up before. Well, assuming I perform well or score high on the PCAT, what are my chances....please share your thoughts!!!

P.S. Since I am not in good standing, does anybody know of any pharmacy schools that are not as "hard" to get into. I know this sounds absurd, but seriously, does anyone know!!! =

None of the schools are known for accepting students with GPAs in this range. Most of them have minimum GPA standards of 3.0 or so and even then your chances of admission are not so good, unless you have other things to offer and interview well. To have a chance at getting in, will need to retake the prerequisite courses in which you scored a C or lower, at least the science related ones.

Provided that you do very well in ochem and your remaining sciences and with a great PCAT score I think you should definetly apply 🙂
