Hey guys,
I am interviewing at Meharry and a nice SDNer said they have more or less just started interviewing. However, they plan to interview 600 kids. Meharry's class is 90 students with 25 alright given to post-bacc students. Therefore, that leaves us with 65 slots. I don't know if its me but 65 slots for 600 kids!! I am going to go in there and give it my best. Wish me luck this Thursday!

Could be that they have a very low yield and must accept 3x the size of the class.

Brett, if thats the truth....You are the MAN!!

They tend to accept alot of people very late in the game.

One of my friends is an M3 there and he didn't apply until super-late (past the deadline ?)... it was the only school he applied to and he got in (despite not having taken physics).

Don't know if that helps.

Meharry kids get to rotate at alot of the same hospitals as Vandy students, right (ie the VA that I can see from my apt window). Also, Nashville Metro General is the kind of place where you will see EVERYTHING... (I take people there all the time as an EMT).

Best of luck!

They probably accept nearly half of those that interview. They hand out acceptances but people withdraw and it ends up going to 300 acceptances before they fill a class. Good luck on your interview!

Thank you for helping ease my worries!

AECOM interviews 1500 students and when i heard that I practically cried, i mean what the heck a 10% chance! but they're just like the school you're waiting on. More acceptances than actually matriculate. When it comes down to it, i hear its more like a 40% acceptance rate. (then again, i'll let you know if the numbers help me at all come wednesday or tuesday's mail)
so just go interview and dont' worry about the high numbers.
