Are you from BC? If you are, then yes, you do have a better chance than other non-provincial students. If you go to the UBC dental web page, they provide a link that shows stats of incoming students. You will see how many BC residents are accepted, versus non-BC residents. Hope this helps. I too went to St. George UofT....I feel for ya 😉

i tried clicked on the stats! the link was down. i was 😡 ..lol.

so simply having a BC address will give me an "edge" compared to my current ontario address?hmmmm

insanity.

yes living in BC will give you an edge, and they only accept Canadian Citizens/PR's that is another plus, although I;ve heard UBC's tuition is comparable to UoP, NYU etc.

If I am not mistaken, UBC takes interantional students as well. That stats link should be working soon, keep clicking🙂

UBC used to favor BC residents but due to its crazy tuition & rediculous deposit ($8200~9000), many accepted applicants withdrew their seats and ran away to UT, McGill or other dental schools. even rejected people got in!

I think this has been happening for 3 yrs till now. anyways, beginning 2004 application process, UBC started to treat everyone equally (in province & out of province), and I don't think any Canadian dental schools accept international students (except few).
