Does visa expiration affect admission?

Hey,
I was wondering if H-4 visa is getting expired would it affect the chances of admission. If so, should we let the school know that its in the process of extension. Also, i want to know if any one has changed from H-4 to student visa after getting into school. Any information shared would be very appreciated. 🙂

No, visa expiration does not affect the admission. But if possible, try to maintain your H-4 status. People who are trying to get through F-1 status have to show the total expenses in their own account, whereas people of H-4 status can show the bank account of other people along with their affidavit of support. However, expenses and visa status only comes into picture once you have got admission into some school.
