Some domestic (US) year-out funding sources are listed below. This is definitely not a comprehensive list. Note that some of these can be used internationally if your mentor is affiliated with a domestic institution. I applied for some of these during the past year and met several students from other medical schools who weren't aware of the variety of opportunities available. I know that if I took the time to apply for at least one of these, I would want someone to tell me of similar programs. In the spirit of spreading the wealth, feel free to forward this along to your classmates or other medical school acquaintances.
