Is it OK to donate blood with a Hodgkins Lymphoma history if I am 11+ years in remission? I know that Red Cross will say no but my primary care doc (he is internal med) says it is OK and to lie on the blood care screening and state that I do not have a lymphoma history. I no longer have a hematologist/oncologist as he cut me loose after 7 years and said I am in effect cured. I have a rare blood type and would like to donate.

What do you guys think?

I would prefer that someone with a hematology background replies. Thanks.

SDN is not for medical advice. Closing thread.

But since you asked, and since I'm an oncologist, I would punch you in the nuts if you did this and you were my patient. Also, your PCP should lose his license.
