There is a person on SDN offering an invitation to GMail (the google mail service) in exchange for reading and offering advice on their personal statement. Don't be fooled though. They just want you to critique their essay, they won't actually offer you the GMail invite. I actually read people's essays for free when I have the time, but since they offered the Gmail Invite I figured I'd spend more time on their essay and try to offer some constructive advice. Its a scam though. I won't call them out and give their screen name, but just beware.

Interesting, I got a gmail invite for critiquing someone's essay on SDN. Of course, I already had a gmail account to begin with so it really made no difference to me.

I even gave them a negative review so I think my guy is pretty damn accountable.

Anyway this entire post is melodramatic and lame.... read people's essays for free b/c you want to help not for some ridiculously petty bribe.

Exactly. I don't know why, but aren't doctors supposed to, yes I know its lame, help people. Isn't that why we help each other.

i really disagree with this thread. I love helping people with essays. If I have the knowledge, I would more then love to share it with them. I always try to do what i can, when I can do it.

guys, i am now out of gmail emails. sorry about that i didnt realize they were that popular...really not THAT great but maybe just the fad. i might go back to hotmail 🙄

anyway, i just want to reiterate, help people because you want to; and, people who get help should be appreciative and come back and post their suggestions for others too, not just for essays but for threads too.
that said, you guys are great.

Yeah, it definitely does now, but it's scheduled for a serious rehaul over the next couple months. They're going to give everyone a ton of space pretty soon. I'd feel like a sucker if I bought the premium version...

hahaha, I'm more than willing to help someone with their essay. I'm already accepted to school...and its not like I'm rewriting their essay, I basically just point out to them if something seems confusing within their writing.
