What is the scoop, can DO's get into pediatric intensivist or neonatal fellowships?•••
Fred, yes you can do either one -- in fact, as a DO, you are fully qualified to enter ANY post-grad training...no matter what some folks will tell you <damnable rumors>. At one point, I was pretty positive that I would either become a peds intensivist or peds cardiologist as a DO; therefore, if you wish to e-mail me privately, I will look and see what data I still have that may assist you...although I may not have too much any longer.
However, if you are a member of the AOA...and maybe even if you are not...you can call them and request that they send you a list of AOA-member DOs who are practicing w/i any specific field. This is waht I did for PICU & PedsCardio and they zapped me a excel spreadsheet of all of them with contact info included. If I recall, there were 10 or so PI Docs and I did not research the NI Docs.
Again, e-mail me off of SDN and I will be glad to send you what I currently have for contacts.
