Drawing fischer projections from wedge dash

Would we have to be able to convert between fischer and wedge/dash? Or would a question just possibly ask in a way where you could just see if the stereocenters match?

In BR, they show a diagram going form the wedge/dash of galactose to the fischer project, but I'm having trouble visualizing how they rotate the bonds to convert to the all eclipsed form, which is needed to draw the fischer. I can do this with simple 4 carbon chains, but I'm having trouble doing it with carbohydrates

The orange circles are what you need to point up. When you flip the OH groups up, if they were dash before flipping, now they are wedge or vice versa.

So when you see the final fischer projection, the wedges that are closest to you would be put on the bottom as you can see in the picture. The dashes are all on the top.
