Hi everyone:

I know that this question has been disscused befor, but it was for females dresscodes. My question is for those males who allready did their interviews...What is the dress code for males..I mean do I have to wear a suit with a necktie......I hate neckties.

Females contributions in answering this Q is also appriciated and more than welcomed.I mean when you ladys went to your interviews...What were the guys wearing????

Anu suggestions????😉

Hello, Sam. 🙂
Friends of mine who gave the interview wore a suit, with a tie.. it helps in making that all-important first impression (put yourself in the interviewer's shoes.. you'll see what I mean). Of course, in the end it is your intellect and aptitude that counts, but in the US, personality and presentability counts in a big way because the student is a reflection of the school.. So bear with the neck-tie for a couple of hours, the situation demands it.. u can throw it away the day you get your acceptance letter. 🙂 All the best.

Hi sam3,
The guys I met when I went for the interview were wearing suits and ties.As tasha said ,presentability and professionalism are impt here.think abt the rewards you may get for tolerating the tie then all the discomfort will vanish in a second😀

get used to the neck tie pal. You'd be wearing it all the while when you're in clinics (an alternative to that is wearing scrubs). But, yeah dress professionally --> wear a suit, try to avoid wearing a sports jacket.

FOR REAL?? 😱 and what do the girls wear in the clinics, as an alternative to scrubs dr_hannibal?

everone has to dress presentably while treating patients. They are allowed to wear scrubs while treating patients. Females can wear scrubs too.

Again, we did this back in dental school in india and we're gonna do the same here ---> No jeans and no denims while inside the clinics

Yes, we had a similar rule in our school, only we girls had to wear indian clothes so we wouldn't freak the patients from the villages and scare them away. Guess the basic concept's the same.. dressing well is a way to respect your patient and inspire respect.
Thanks, dr_h, you're a real help, sorry for the digression off the topic of the starting thread.. was curious, is all.
Cheers.
