Hospital's Ties to Medical School at Risk

LOS ANGELES - County health officials have issued an ultimatum to a medical school affiliated with a troubled inner-city teaching hospital: shape up or risk having ties severed.

Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science must make changes by Aug. 31 or lose its contract to train doctors at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, Department of Health Services chief Dr. Thomas Garthwaite said in a memo to Los Angeles County supervisors

3rd and 4th years arent that bad off but its the lower classmen (and probably the next 2 incoming classes) that are gonna get the brunt of this.
