DrPH help!

So this is mainly directed to people who possess their doctoral, or are pursuing their degree. In trying to understand Doctoral degrees in Public Health and how you maintain a livable lifestyle, if you were a full-time student, did you still have a full-time job? Other than a GA or part-time fellowship? I am seriously debating pursuing my doctoral degree, however this question I have been having a hard time getting a solid answer. I have my MPH in epi but feel like I have hit a glass ceiling already unless I move to my doctorate. Any insight into this situation would be greatly appreciated!
