How do you pronounce physiatrist? I thought it was [fiz?ee?uh?trist]. I was corrected by a nurse who said [fiz?eye?uh?trist]. The former seems to roll of the tongue a bit more. But I don't want to make a fool of myself when I meet the head of the physical medicine department to set up some shadowing time.

you can pronounce it (ee*thur) or (i*thur) way. most of the physiatrists i met on the interview trail said "fiz?ee?uh?trist". personally i like it the with the "eye" in the middle.
