Well, i woke up this morning with blood (quite a bit) and puss coming out of my left ear. I had a sore throat and a stiff neck for about 2 days prior..

The doctor said i had a middle ear infection and had possible ruptured my ear drum..

Right now i can't hear out of my left and was wondering if it will come back and what are the chances that i might experience some permanent hearing loss?

Thanks..

He just told me to come back in 4-5 days if it was not better..

I know that there are MD's and residents who post on this board and would be knowledgeable in this situation and thats why i posted it here. My doc was in a rush and didnt seem to want to stay longer, so he just gave me a brochure and a script and sent me packing..

That sucks man, but people on here are pretty leery of giving medical advice (especially since the vast majority on this forum don't have their degrees yet), and I believe it's a violation of SDN TOS to ask for medical advice.

As an aside, it sounds like your doctor would fail my school's clinical competence exams for not taking a second to find out your worries related to this ear thing....I would ask him to give you a ring when he has a second to talk so he can allay some of your fears.

Best of luck... :luck:

As was already pointed out, SDN is not for medical advice. Please call your physician and discuss your concerns with him/her.
