So...has any one run into the situation where they have competitive enough stats for early acceptance, but not in the SAT department? I know Upstate wants to see >1300 SATS for early acceptance, but I am a 150 points under this...My other question, then, would be, has anyone retaken the SATS while in college just to make their resume better for admissions? And, if you have, was it even worth it? Did you see any improvement? Would a 150 point increase after not taking the SATS for 2 years even be possible?

Hi HessExpress, I don't understand. Are you already in an undergrad program or are you entering an undergrad program? Usually, once you have begun your undergraduate education and you want to apply to early Medical Admission Programs, the schools ONLY look at your Undergraduate GPA. They usually don't actually look at ANY standardized test scores. In fact, most people who get accepted into these programs are not required to take the MCAT.

My current roommate had a 4.0 freshman year GPA having only completed gen chem (of the traditional pre-med requirements) when she applied to Mount Sinai's early admission program at the beginning of her sophomore year. She was accepted in October of her sophomore year and will now continue on to medical school once she finishes undergrad.

Yea, I don't know about most schools, but Upstate, on the website and advisor's lecture, told me that Upstate looks at your SATS if you are applying early acceptance since you do not take the MCATS for their early acceptance...However, >1300 would be what they are looking for.

When do you have to apply for early acceptance?

I think after a couple of years of college level math and english, you should be able to score a 1300 fairly easily (with a little bit of studying)
