Does anyone know if applying early decision would actually give me a better chance of being accepted than through the regular decision process?

if you're a "stellar" applicant, then by all means apply EDP. you take the risk however of applying to other schools very late if you don't get accepted. best of luck!

It depends on the school, so do research on the school before applying...at some schools it's easier, and at some it's almost impossible.
