I was recently talking to a doctor who mentioned that medical schools in the east are not big on family practice. Is this true? Does anyone know of any other trends like this concerning the differences between schools based on location? What specialties are you all interested in?

What about the Dirty Dirty Souf? Can't we get some lovin'?

Just kidding, that was terrible...

I think it differs based on individual schools reason rather than on geographic location. I live in the midwest and the school in my state is big on churning out primary care clinicians. OTOH, the top schools in the area like U of Chicago and WashU is big on research and probably not into primary care (I'd wager).
