Sweet Mother of God, I was just replying to goosehc's post about lettng me in BU when after that, I came home and see a fat envelope from Boston University.... AN ACCEPTANCE!!!!

This is so amazing, after having rejected from UMDNJ RWJ, waitlisted at UMDNJ, holds at Penn schools and post-interview hold from Tufts and Syracuse! No word yet from NYMC but theydid e-mail me about getting some documents so there might be a favorable letter for me there... but who cares??? I'm going to be a DOCTOR!!! Hallelujah, I want to celebrate with you guys! For those waiting, don't lose hope!!! Frankly, BU was the last thing in my mind, I was thinking NYMC and UMDNJ (post-waitlist), but I got U, which I would truly love to attend!!! And how quick it was:

mid Dec: invite
mid-Jan: interview
Feb 1: acceptability letter
now: acceptance!

The biggest hurt was the waitist at my stateschool and rejection from the other state school, so I thought chances were pretty slim. Even more for BU, which so far was my last interview. Then this miraculous thing. I know a lo of you are in the same boat... just remember, the unexpected happens oftener than you think!

I won't be able to sleep tonight.

Oh, and there is a little something from Georgetown University, one of those that gave me rejections, inviting me for a pstbaccalaureate program... well, more toilet paper!

Feels nice to break the AMA seal doesn't it?? Now you can pursue your goals..

I am very happy for you..My goodness, I am very inspired by the kindness on this site.

Oh and Dr. Foxy.....I feel you have something good coming in the mail..I feel it.

My stats:

MCAT: 30M
GPA: 3.95 undergrad, 3.85 postbac
nonURM
tok some time off between college
average extracurriculars; may have helped because of diversity (computers, martial arts, arranging and composing songs...), may have not in terms of motivation (only did volunteer work and very slight research).

Let me know if any of you guys need more information. I'm happy to reveal ANYTHING.

Darkmatter, I am curios to know about your UMDNJ-NJMS situation. When did you have the interview, and when and how did they tell you that you were waitlisted. How did you feel the interview went. And what did they tell you to expect from the waitlist. I too am in a similar situation and would appreciate your input.

Congrats, now go celebrate!

Thanks again guys!

Sng33, I thought the UMDNJ interview went well. It lasted for about 2 hours, half of which was spent touring the hospital! The interview itself was tough but I strongly believed I maintained my composure. It was my first interview and the invite came a week after I had my application completed. Had the interview in November, then got the news that I was waitlisted a month after. Yet, I still hoped because I keep getting updates from Dr. Heinrich himself, even if he said that the waitlists weren't ranked at this time. So if you get updates from him by email, maybe you're in good terms with the school, but officially, the waitlist will be ranked by June.
